Interlude, snippet, drabble, whatever. Skuzz wakes up in the hospital.
------

Skuzz wakes up in the hospital Monday afternoon, with a headache the size of London. Well, maybe not London. Islington, certainly.

The nurse that brings his dinner in says he has a broken leg, one or two broken ribs, and a concussion. He's not really sure what that last thing is; all he knows is it feels like a bloody hangover without the drinking past first. Also he has visitors (the way she says it, it translates in his mind as policemen).

"Come on in, boys," she calls into the corridor. "He's awake, but he might still be a bit muzzy."

The visitors are Pigbog, Greaser, and Big Ted. Skuzz isn't so much surprised by the fact that they came as he is that they're alive. After all, last he saw them they were being loaded up to go to the morgue. He thinks.

None of the other three remember anything about Saturday afternoon. Eventually they decide they all got smashed and blacked out. It doesn't account for the hospital, or a very clear memory of all of them coming up with funny nicknames while going down the motorway, but Skuzz accepts the explanation till he gets his things back to go home.

His jacket positively reeks of fish.
